This concept comes from how many people are adamant on following certain processes. They don’t want to think about problems as they want to keep what they are doing as consistent and planned as possible.

Groupthink is a different concept but it is relatively similar. This works in that many people in a single group will act irrationally. This is all about trying to get everyone in the business or other entity to be on the same page with one another.

People also believed that they could get away with improper financial planning and that Swissair would survive when in reality the business collapsed from losses.

The entire group thought that the business could stick together if they all used the same improper financial solutions but that ended up hurting the business in general.

This is done with the belief that all people in a group should use the same values and ideas when trying to make it run well in some manner. The truth is that it would be harder for a business to grow or succeed if people just thought about one solution without considering alternatives that might actually work a little better.

As difficult as these issues can be, Groupthink and Go Fever can be avoided when a few things are done. it helps to get more feedback on certain ideas, for instance. Asking a diverse series of voices on whether or not certain solutions are worthwhile for a business can always help in some manner.

You also have to consider the individual talents that people within a group have. This includes understanding what can be done to get separate people in a group to use their own skills to their advantage.

There’s also a need to create a sensible series of contingencies for when certain plans don’t work. This is to at least have several avenues of operation when trying to make a business work without disruptions or other serious threats getting in the way.

It also helps to be patient. Rushing projects before they are ready can prove to be a very serious concern.
