Self-Love is an Inside Job

Self-Love is an Inside Job

Most have been encouraged to go out into the world and find the perfect mate that will love and honor them. It is not often however, that one is advised to focus on self-love.

It is a never ending search when the parameters aren’t clear.   To truly know what type of love feels good, one has to stand in their own personal power. You already have everything you need residing on the inside of you. You are that blank canvas ready to be painted in your own perfection.

This may look and feel different to each individual which sparked my interest to go on this personal quest to collect the pieces of how people are cultivating their self-love. The messages I gathered were inspirational and listed below.

Here are 10 powerful expressions of what self love, compassion and care looks like to them.

It feels just like moments when you sit in front of a warm fire; uplifting, a high, empowering, with a sense of security that anything and everything is possible. It holds you in blissfully tight-knowing that fears & anxieties are gone.

Life will feel brand new! It doesn’t stop the bad from happening but it helps you to see right through it all. Love is living within your over-standing.

Self-love to me is when you’ve finally found inner peace and recognize that there is no such thing as perfection.

To accept yourself, to know you can be who you want to be and because you have that choice, you should love you because you have created you. It’s accepting a responsibility and a reality that you are who you are because you choose to be and embracing your negatives and positives.

Innate, not something to learn, something to re-remember.

Looking at the scars (emotional or physical) and realizing that they are there, not as signs of weakness, but as signs of healing.

Take time out to calm your mind every day. Breathe in and out, clear your mind of your thoughts and just be. Follow your passion-be patient with yourself!

When that time that is spent alone fills you up with purpose, peace, and alignment with the divine. One no longer feels lonely when alone but complete.

Dedication to knowing self: accountability, worth, self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, and selfless. To love every aspect of your being!

Self- love is to know that your happiness comes first and you know that your well-being depends on it.

It is investing energy in discovering who you are in the inside, learning to find your hearts inner voice. It is self-care of the temple (through diet, exercise, meditation, personal grooming) and taking time to know and heal yourself in the mind, the heart, and the soul.

It is finding the divine inside of you.

It is being honest with yourself and taking time to study who you are and realizing that “to be and what to be” is the question in each moment.

This journey is about honoring oneself and always doing what feels good to you.  Keep adding to your personal list, this is where you will find your-never ending bliss.

How would you describe your personal self love?
