What are the things and who are the people that make you smile when you think of them? Does a certain weather temp or familiar smell get you excited? Everything that makes my soul jump up and down can make me feel light as a feather, yet the demands of society can weigh pretty heavy. It is easy to gain and get in your happy place, yet it is less easy to remain there.

Sure being content with your surroundings, having an attitude of gratitude that your needs (and many wants) are met, and flat out choosing to be happy will keep you grounding in joy. Realistically, life happens. To stay in that euphoric state of glee, we must stand clear of things that turn our smiles upside down.
Here are 4 things happy people try to never do:
Try to please everyone
I have some amazing friends. Good, loyal people that seem to be more concerned with the welfare of others more than themselves. I’ve watched each of these people complain of being pulled in so many directions while trying to be everything to everybody.
Newsflash, you wonderful giver you. It doesn’t work and as awesome of a gift that is, it must be regulated (unless you are super human).
Happy people realize they can not solve everyone’s problems and to try would cause amounts of stress you really don’t want. No is a powerful word people. Use it.
Easily buy into golden opportunities
Happy people take great care before buying into ideas that may appear like a gold mine. There are many ways to make a mint, that doesn’t mean they are meant for you however. Careful consideration is safety net the happy can fall back on when things do not go as planned.
Take your time. Use your brain more, and emotions less. Tap into the wisdom around you before you take risks. The grass may be greener, just find out first!
Try to change others
You are your main champion of change. You can’t change others but you can change yourself, so stick to that. Put the focus on altering the things in your life that need it. Trying to change others is a lost cause.
People make decisions to change once life catches up with them that removes a vial from blind eyes. Once that happens progress can ensue. Until then, leave those who are not ready to buy in to your ideas and move on with the like-minded people who are as driven as you are.
Remain in their Comfort Zone
We don’t do comfort zones around these parts, and neither do happy people. We look for ways to expand, uncharted water to sail and new lanes to drive in. We take the unknown, turn it into a comfort zone and move on to the next challenge. Never be enclosed in your cocoon and expect outstanding results.
Comfort zones stunt growth. You become fat with mediocrity and you cant afford that. Look for ways to push yourself push your own expectations.
